The 2010-11 School Year is coming to a close and that means it is time for our final event - The Annual
BBQ/Campout on the school grounds.  It has been a fantastic year for the Cub Scouting program at AOOL starting off with our campout on the beach in Wildwood, NJ - BeachJam, Pumpkin Picking, Sleepover on the Battleship NJ & tour of Independence Hall/Liberty Bell, Scout Winter Swim Party at the Ridgewood YMCA, Pinewood Derby, Karate night at the Pack meeting, Washington DC trip & sleepover at the International Spy Museum, and our fishing derby & overnight at Camp Yaw Paw!  Take a look at our Gallery of photos on the website.  A pretty busy and enjoyable year if I do say so myself, and already the leadership team of the Pack are looking at ways to make next year even better!

At our BBQ we are also welcoming new families of K-5 students who are interested in joining Pack 27 for the upcoming 2011-12 school year from AOOL as well as Glen Rock & Ridgewood Public Schools who would like to meet the Cub Scouts & Pack Leaders. As you can see from the above we are a very active Cub Scout Pack, and we are sure your boys will have great fun here, and learn great life skill while building character.

The cost of the BBQ is FREE to all Cub Scout families & families interested in joining.  We do ask that Tiger & Weblos 1 families bring a dessert (ie. cake, pie, cookies, brownies, etc), and Wolf & Bear families bring a salad or side (ie. macaroni salad, baked beans, etc.).  The Pack will provide hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken, chips, drinks, and Rita's Italian Ices.  After our BBQ we will have a campfire, and pass out our end of year awards.  We will camp out on the school grounds in tents, and then break camp in the morning.

Please fill out the attached flyer, and get it back to me via fax 201-301-9158, email PeterH4565@aol.com, or through school via Ian Hamilton 3C by no later then Wed, June 1 so I can get an accurate count of how much food to purchase.  I look forward to seeing everyone there, and to new families I look forward to meeting you all and welcoming your son to Pack 27.

Many thanks,
Peter Hamilton
