Toys for Tots a Success - Over 70 toys collected!

posted Dec 9, 2013, 3:21 PM by Peter Hamilton
Thanks to all scouting families who helped spread the word on our Toys for Tots campaign in Glen Rock. The Scouts collected over 70 new unwrapped toys over the week of Dec 2nd-Dec 6th and delivered them to Santa & the United Stated Marine Corp speacial Toys for Tots Train in Wyckoff on Saturday between 11:45am-12:45pm.  Staff Sargent Fredrick J. Wiedenmann USMC said to me, "It is great to see the scouts of Pack 27 & Troop 27 living the scout oath "to help other people" in their communities.  The primary goal of the Toys for Tots Program is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them into becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens. The same values that Scouting helps develop & exemplify in our youth day in and day out."

I like to thank everyone that helped make this Christmas extra special for someone you don't know or will never probably meet. May the joys and blessing of Christmas be with you and your families this time of year.  I will see everyone at our next Pack meeting Jan 17th, 7pm at the Holmes building & Family Swim night Sat, Jan 18th 7:30-9:30pm!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year from all the Leadership of Pack 27!
